As part of their learning of the Victorian era, Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne made Victorian bread and butter. We followed a recipe carefully and used our mathematical skills to measure out the correct ingredients. Once the bread had been cooked and the butter was ready, we then had the opportunity to eat it all up…. yum yum!

As part of Dosbarth Mrs Curtis Dwr Diddorol topic we have been studying the water cycle and investigating the question ‘Where does water begin?’
Victorians
This week Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been introduced to the Victorian era. We talked about how Victorians lived and compared Victorian houses to modern-day houses. We also had the opportunity to explore a variety of real Victorian household objects and compared these to household objects from now. We worked together to sort these.
Algorithm
Learners in Dosbarth Miss Powell explored the term “algorithm’’ today with an unplugged dance activity. We studied a dance clip to discover the algorithm…Think we have some practising to do before we are completely in sync
Macmillan Coffee Afternoon
A big thank you to all those who supported our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon. We are pleased to announce that we raised a total of £260.72. Thank you to the School Council for organising and delivering such a successful event.
Gardening
A fun (and quite messy) gardening session with learners from Dosbarth Miss Powell and Dosbarth Mrs Curtis on Thursday.
Impelo Dance
Learners in Dosbarth Miss Powell a Dosbarth Mrs Curtis had a fantastic first session with Impelo dance company this afternoon. Learners demonstrated creativity and enthusiasm as they developed an understanding of a sequence.
Counting Skills
In maths this week in Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been developing our counting skills. We have been finding amounts, using a bead string to count on and we have also explored estimating using different objects.
Radnor Hills
Dosbarth Miss Powell and Dosbarth Mrs Curtis had a fantastic afternoon at Radnor Hills. It was very interesting for our learners to discover the process from the factory to our school. Huge thank you to Radnor Hills for hosting us so well, and for our freebies!
