Today we welcomed James Evans MS in to talk to us about his job in the Senedd as part of our Journeys topic. He spoke about his role and then we got to ask him a series of questions. The learners in Dosbarth Mrs Smith asked some very sensible questions and collected the responses ready to use in their work. It was interesting to hear all about his career. Diolch yn fawr James!

Cricket
Learners in Year 5 and 6 teamed up with children from Gladestry to enter this summer’s Radnorshire Primary Cricket festival at Builth Wells Cricket Club. Organised by Sport Powys and Cricket Wales, it was a great day competing against local schools. Everyone had a fantastic time, learned some new cricket skills and two of our teams were amongst the tops scorers on the day. Thank you to Ms Welsh who came with us and supported a team, thank you to the organisers and umpires. Well done to everyone who took part.
Gardening
Konga
This morning we welcomed Laura into Dosbarth Mrs Smith to talk about her business as part of our topic. The learners asked some very good questions and listened carefully to the responses. She spoke about the reasons behind setting up Laura Jane fitness and the importance of doing something you love. We then had a very fun Konga session where all learners participated with enthusiasm and we even managed to get some of the staff involved

Volunteering
Last week each learner in Dosbarth Mrs Smith created their own questionnaire to ask family and friends a number of questions around volunteering. As part of our research we found out how many people volunteer and the reasons why they choose to do this. We also gathered data to find out what would encourage others to volunteer in the future.
On Friday we volunteered to do some gardening over at the Hub We discussed the difference we made in half an hour and the impact short volunteering sessions could have on a community. Da iawn pawb!
