We also made cross sun catchers.
We went pebble collecting on our welly walk. We used these to paint and retell the Easter Story.

Antarctic Explorers from the Past
We have been learning about Antarctic explorers from the past. We worked in groups to research information about these and shared what we found out with the class.
We went to West Midlands Safari Park to help us with our topic ’Freezing Lands’. We saw lots of animals, including penguins, seals snd reindeers. We also had a tour around the Ice Age and learnt lots of interesting facts.
We have been learning about climate change as part of our 'Freezing Lands' topic and carried out an ice experiment to explore this. We made predictions, observations and communicated our findings.

Chinese New Year!
We have had great fun celebrating Chinese New Year this week. We have learnt a lot and was able to explore different Chinese items, including Chinese red money envelopes, a lantern and a Chinese scroll. We also made our own Chinese dragons and danced with these and tried some Chinese food
The blubber experiment with Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne
This week we have been learning about how polar animals adapt to their environment. We carried out a blubber experiment and found out that we were able to keep our hand in icy water alot longer when there was blubber around it compared to when there was no blubber.
Our Welly Walk
This week Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about maps. As part of this, we went on a welly walk to explore our local area and then created our own maps of New Radnor in class. We have also learnt about physical and human features and identified these on our walk.
Our visit from the police lady
On Wednesday PC Viv came into school and spoke to Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne about keeping safe. The children talked about safe places to play and the dangers of unsafe places. 
Skeletons
Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne went stick and stone collecting on our welly walk up Smatcher, and then used these to make skeletons in our groups.
