Teeth

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have continued their learning of teeth this week by exploring why and how we brush our teeth correctly, and finding out why our baby teeth fall out. The learners had the opportunity to practise brushing a set of teeth, following the golden rules that they learnt within the lesson to ensure they brush them properly.

Teeth

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have started learning about teeth this week. We started by exploring why we need teeth, why we have baby teeth and what the different teeth are called and their uses. The learners even made their own sets of teeth using marshmallows.

5 Little Dragons

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have worked as a group to discuss possible sounds that a dragon can make and chose five of these to create a song. The learners then thought carefully about which instruments would be good to represent each of these sounds, using the instruments creatively to express their own ideas.

Welsh Dragon

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne wanted to find out why there was a dragon on the Welsh flag and have learnt about the story of โ€˜The Red Dragon of Walesโ€™. We created our own dragons using natural materials, and then thought carefully about what we could say to our dragon to make it feel like it belongs in New Radnor, exploring the language of empathy. The learners did an excellent job of using their imagination and creative skills to make their own dragons and came up with great ideas for what they could say to it. Bendigedig Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne.

2d Shapes

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about 2D shapes and their properties. The learners have worked hard in a range of activities to explore these, such as a 2D shape hunt outside, making shapes using a variety of materials and recording their properties, sorting shapes and exploring tangrams. The learners used great problem-solving skills.

New Radnor Art

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about Rhiannon Roberts, a Welsh artist from Cardiff, and have worked particularly hard to create some of their own artwork of New Radnor inspired by her. They all look amazing!

The learners primarily went on a welly walk around New Radnor to take photos of what they wanted to include within their artwork.

Symmetry

In our Mathematics and Numeracy lessons this week, Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about symmetry and have carried out a range of activities to develop their understanding of this. The learners have created some excellent symmetrical pictures using a variety of materials.

Forces

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about forces and have been on a hunt to search for objects that are magnetic and non-magnetic. The learners did a great job of sorting these.
