We are immensely proud of all learners in Dosbarth Miss Powell and Dosbarth Mrs Smith who demonstrated resilience, determination and encouragement at the cluster cross country event. Da iawn pawb – We are so proud of you!

We had PC Viv into school today to talk to us about how to keep our private information safe and why this is important. 

Dosbarth Miss Powell have been learning how to control a drone. We have also explored the important safety rules and regulations that apply to drone technology.

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about 3D shapes and their properties in their Mathematics and Numeracy lessons. Learners have been on a 3D shape hunt around the school and village, sorted 3D shapes in different ways, made some 3D shapes using play dough and explored their properties, and they have used their knowledge and understanding of 2D shapes learnt from previous lessons to spot these on the faces of 3D shapes.

Dosbarth Mrs Smith started British Science Week by looking at our body. As a class we watched a video explaining the different systems within our bodies. Learners then used the notes they took and their own findings to create an A3 poster all about our body. We can’t wait to see the finished projects.

Year 5 and 6 were given an amazing opportunity to visit the Millennium Centre and listen to the Welsh National Opera perform well known pieces from Harry Potter to Encanto. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed this experience and participated in the singing with enthusiasm. This was made possible through the National Plan for Music in Powys ! After the show we went on a walk through the Bay to see the Senedd Cymru building and discussed it’s importance. The pupils all had a fab day

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have continued their learning of teeth this week by exploring why and how we brush our teeth correctly, and finding out why our baby teeth fall out. The learners had the opportunity to practise brushing a set of teeth, following the golden rules that they learnt within the lesson to ensure they brush them properly.

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have started learning about teeth this week. We started by exploring why we need teeth, why we have baby teeth and what the different teeth are called and their uses. The learners even made their own sets of teeth using marshmallows. 

Continuing with our learning of the importance of Dydd Gwyl Dewi, Dosbarth Mrs Smith listened to the story and then participated in an online quiz. All learners got very excited when seeing their team name on the leader board against other Welsh Schools.

Then we ended the day by creating our own conversation animation on Scratch in club this afternoon. Learners worked well in their groups to follow simple instructions and adapt each stage as they wished with the end goal of two characters greeting each other or having a dialogue yn Gymraeg.

Criw Cymraeg led Gemau Cymraeg after our assembly this morning, as part of our St David’s Day celebrations.
