Dosbarth Miss Powell had a fantastic first session with Mrs Freeman learning to use the pcornets and pbones!

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about measuring length in our Mathematics and Numeracy lessons and have carried out a range of activities to explore this. The learners have worked hard to ensure they are measuring accurately using a variety of materials, such as cubes, their hands and paper clips. Bendigedig everyone! 

As part of our topic, Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have learnt about traditional Welsh foods and have carried out a small project on cawl. We worked in groups to design our own healthy cawl linked to our learning of healthy eating, and then made each of these to find out which was the favourite. We continued our learning of emailing safely and had the opportunity to email our parents to invite them into school to taste our yummy cawl. We have also been working hard to learn the names of some of the vegetables in Welsh. On our welly walk, we then went to buy the vegetables from Sharon’s shop whilst discussing the importance of supporting local businesses and finding out where some of the vegetables come from. Finally, we made the chosen cawl for our parents to come into school to try and it was delicious! 

As part of our learning about teeth, Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have carried out an experiment to explore the effects of sugar on teeth. We put an egg in four different liquids, these being water, milk, coke and fruit juice, and left them for several days to see if they changed. Before carrying out the experiment we made our predictions and then reflected upon our findings.

On Tuesday, Year 3 and Year 4 invited Gladestry Church in Wales Primary School over for the day. We created artwork in Expressive Arts, participated in Health and Wellbeing with netball games and finished the day with a brilliant Louby Lou’s Storytelling workshop based on Welsh Folk Tales, Merlin & The Red Dragon & Cantre’r Gwaelod. Dosbarth Miss Burgyone also had a fantastic morning exploring Dragons & Castles and Merlin & The Red Dragon! Dydd brysur! Busy day!

We are immensely proud of all learners in Dosbarth Miss Powell and Dosbarth Mrs Smith who demonstrated resilience, determination and encouragement at the cluster cross country event. Da iawn pawb – We are so proud of you!

We had PC Viv into school today to talk to us about how to keep our private information safe and why this is important. 

Dosbarth Miss Powell have been learning how to control a drone. We have also explored the important safety rules and regulations that apply to drone technology.

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about 3D shapes and their properties in their Mathematics and Numeracy lessons. Learners have been on a 3D shape hunt around the school and village, sorted 3D shapes in different ways, made some 3D shapes using play dough and explored their properties, and they have used their knowledge and understanding of 2D shapes learnt from previous lessons to spot these on the faces of 3D shapes.

Dosbarth Mrs Smith started British Science Week by looking at our body. As a class we watched a video explaining the different systems within our bodies. Learners then used the notes they took and their own findings to create an A3 poster all about our body. We can’t wait to see the finished projects.
